Community Finance
Where the Money Goes
What happens to contributions — where they go, and how decisions are made.
Where We Are Right Now
This is an early-stage project.
We're currently:
- • building the platform
- • setting up the legal structure (EU-based non-profit association)
- • growing the community
Contributions made at this stage are used to help move all of this forward.
How Money Is Held
Right now, funds are managed through a Wise account.
This allows us to:
- • receive contributions from anywhere in the world
- • hold multiple currencies (EUR, GBP, USD and others)
- • cover development and running costs efficiently
As the project matures, we plan to move to a dedicated EU-based account — likely with bunq — once the non-profit structure is fully in place.
Current Setup (Simple View)
- • Contributions are received via Wise
- • Funds are used only to move the project forward
- • When the formal account is ready, everything will transition across
How Decisions Are Made
The community decides how money is used.
- • Members can submit ideas and proposals
- • Proposals are voted on in the app
- • Approved proposals guide how funds are spent
Smaller day-to-day costs may be handled without a full vote, but anything significant is decided collectively.
Example
"Funds allocated to Prototype X → approved by community vote on [date]"
Responsibility and Risk
This project operates as a non-profit structure.
- • The organisation holds financial responsibility
- • Members are not personally liable
- • No profits are distributed to individuals
If the project ever stops operating, any remaining assets are handled according to non-profit law.
Our Commitments
We aim to keep things clear and easy to follow. We commit to:
- • sharing regular financial updates
- • showing where money comes in and goes out
- • linking spending to community decisions where possible
- • respecting every contribution made
Monthly Updates
We will publish a simple monthly breakdown showing key financial activity.
No statements published yet
These will appear once activity begins and the account is in regular use.
Each monthly update will include
- Total funds received
- Total funds spent
- Current balance
- How money was used
- Links to any related votes
- A short plain-language summary
A Note
If you choose to contribute, you're helping build something from the ground up.
Every contribution supports:
- • development
- • structure
- • and the community itself
